In fact, the jobs are so in high demand that some workers command a salary of over $107,000 on average. It has never been a better time to be a cyber security engineer, especially with many universities and colleges offering bachelors and master’s degree programs in this field.
The cybersecurity job market is expected grow much faster than average, by 32% from 2018 to 2028, according to the BLS. In a nutshell, cyber security engineers plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems. Their responsibilities are continually expanding as the number of cyberattacks increases.
Cyber Security engineers are continually learning new things, in fact they must stay up to date on IT security and on the latest methods attackers are using to infiltrate computer systems. Cybersecurity engineers need to research new security technology to decide what will most effectively protect their organization.
